Jesus is the way

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me. John 14:6

Jesus’ statement to Thomas leaves no room for argument.  It is either the truth or it is not.  If true, it applies to all people, in all places, at all times.  It is the kind of statement many people hate.  It contradicts the current notion of tolerance – that there are many ways to God and one is just as good as another.

When the world tells us there are many ways to be saved, what they are really saying is that Jesus’ death on the cross was unnecessary.  If one could be saved apart from the blood of Christ, then why would Jesus have died?  While we have to be respectful to all people, we cannot compromise on who Jesus is and what He did on the cross.  By word and example we are to be witnesses to the truth.
