Call unto me

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. Jer. 33:3

Jeremiah could see what was going on around him and it was not good.  Jerusalem had been destroyed.  The people of God taken captive.  The judgment of God had come.  That was what Jeremiah could see.  But God saw the temple rebuilt.  He saw the captives return.  He saw Jesus bringing salvation to the world.  He wanted Jeremiah to know the voice of joy would once again sound in Jerusalem.

This verse reminds us that no matter how bad things appear to us, God is at work.  If we will call upon the Lord, He will answer us.  God sees past the now and knows the great and mighty things He has in our future.  He wants to share with us a glimpse of the joy that will be.

No matter how dark the moment, call upon the Lord and rest in the hope He provides.
