Mark 14:33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
It is hard to see or imagine the pain Jesus felt. He had made Himself 100% human. Jesus was still 100% God, but He felt like we feel. He was hours from the cross. He needed help. He needed the Father to do something for Him. He prayed three times. Each time He accepted the Father’s will for His life and death. Jesus was staring at the death of the cross. He saw the pain and humiliation that He was about to face. He prayed. He asked His friends to pray.
What a lesson for us we have here. When we are staring at something bigger than us, we need to seek God. We need to realize that He can and will help us. We need to pray. We need to know that Jesus understands us. He has felt our pain and humiliation.
He understands and will meet our needs.
