A prayer for an Evangelist

A prayer for an Evangelist

On the road and in the air to South Carolina and on to wild and wonderful West Virginia.

PRAY....

THE SAVIOUR WILL BE SEEN in the message

THE SINNER WILL BE SAVED by the multitudes

THE SAINTS WILL BE STIRRED by the Master

or

PRAY....

THE SAVIOUR WILL BE SEEN in His power

THE SINNER WILL BE SAVED as He promised

THE SAINTS WILL BE STIRRED for a purpose

You just have to Wait

You just have to Wait
Some time ago, after diligently seeking the Lord for a word,my heart was brought to this passage..
Psa 27:13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Psa 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. God said so plainly to me that day in prayer WAIT.

Patience has never been a strong virtue of mine.
I once heard a wise man say,God is not concern so much with time as he is timing.
This divine plan of waiting, is seen through out the Scriptures.

I see it in the life of Abraham, concerning Gods promise of a son. It came to pass but in God's timing.
I see it showing itself in Joseph and his Dream. It came to pass, but again, only in God's time.
One that's overlooked at times, was the worked that Christ came to do.
Luk 12:50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
This baptism was His sufferings. He was in a straight or apprehensive as he waited for this time of his suffering.

(As a mother longing for the birth of her child, yet dreads the labor, but longs for it to be over. )
He waited for His time according to His Father's will.
Galatians 4:4-5 tells us When the fullness of time was come, God sent his Son to redeem them that were under the law..

So we see waiting is a large part of God's plan for our lives. We should not be troubled or alarmed, if we too are called upon to wait. It's apart of the plan.

To wait for:
1. Our Prayers to be Answered:
2. God's Promises to be Fulfilled:
3. The Work we are in to produce:
The poet said,
Some glorious morn—but when? Ah, who will say?
The steepest mountain will become a plain,
And the parched land be satisfied with rain.
The gates of brass all broken; iron bars,
Transfigured, form a ladder to the stars.
Rough places plain, and crooked ways all straight,
For him who with a patient heart can wait.
These things will be on God's appointed day:
It may not be tomorrow—yet it may.

Prayer is our lifeblood

(I found this lesson, will copy and paste, that's what I do on this blog, besides we are laborers together working for God)

The Impact of Prayer

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

Prayer is the lifeblood of an intimate relationship with the Father. But believers often have questions about its power and effectiveness. Don’t hesitate to take your queries to the Lord, dig into Scripture for answers, and seek the counsel of a trusted spiritual mentor. Prayer is too important to neglect.
Will God’s plans fail if I don’t pray? God is not subservient to believers or dependent upon their prayers. The time we invest in speaking with Him involves us in the work that He is doing in our lives and in the world, but He will carry on without us.Laboring alongside the Lord is our privilege.
Does my prayer (or lack thereof) impact God’s work? I believe that Scripture indicates the answer to this question is both yes and no, depending upon the situation. There are times when God’s purpose is set. He is in control and has determined the best course. In the Old Testament, the Lord often prophesied what He would do and then brought those events to pass.

In other cases, “you do not have because you do not ask” (James 4:2). There are some good things that He holds back until we put out prayerful hands to receive them. But because God is a loving
Father, He also pours our blessings that we wouldn’t even think to request.

Believer’s prayers have tremendous impact, particularly on their own faith and life. Do you understand what an awesome privilege it is to kneel before the all-powerful Father and know that He listens and will respond?

God loves to be good to His children and answer their prayers.

The Ditch

Musing Through Matthew-The Ditch

Let us muse again today from Matthew 15:14 the theme of Jesus the king.

In our text for study today we find a truth on the subject of the ditch. Our Lord speaks of the blind teachers who are teaching those things which are not in the Bible. We are told that the blind teachers are teaching blind students and as they walk along in their studies there is a ditch just ahead which both are about to fall into. The great lesson for us is no one can stop it apart from a miracle of grace from the God that opens blinded eyes.

There is blindness all around us let us pray to the God who alone can open blinded eyes.

Honor

Honor is always preceded by humility, this is a biblical concept. Consider the parable of Luke 14:7-14. Jesus said to choose the lowest seat in the room-literally, assume a position that will not draw attention to yourself. Choose the inconspicuous seat, and you’ll discover an invitation to sit in higher places. Christ said, “Then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Our culture has it backwards. We barge in with our self-proclaimed greatness and take the best seat in the house in an effort to be noticed, recognized, and commended. This was not the approach of the Savior. Christ discreetly came into the world, lived for thirty years as a blue-collar carpenter, chose unlearned and ignorant men, and had no place to lay his head. He could have established His kingdom, announced His glory, and demanded humanity to bow in worship. Instead He chose suffering, a cross, mockery, and shame.
As a result, He was elevated to the highest seat in the heavens. He is forever recognized as the potentate King of the Ages. But His seat of glory was cushioned with the fabric of humility. His omniscient title was first carved into a wooden plaque upon a timber of crucifixion.
His honor was birthed out of service. Ours should be no different.

Missed blessing & bad choice

I have been preaching on Esau and Jacob lately. How that Esau missed the Blessing of the Father. He had sold his Birthright to Jacob many years prior. The missed blessing was a result of a bad choice. He fail to see without the birthright, no blessing.

May we guard our choices and seek God for wisdom.

Wanting to quit

Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. Jer.20:9
Have you ever wanted to quit? Jermiah did. God had sent him to preach a message the people would not receive. He was discouraged. He was tired. He said, “I quit.” At one time or another everyone has said, “I quit.” We all get tired. We become discouraged or afraid. We say, “What’s the use?”
Yet, the Word of God was in his heart and burned as a fire shut up in his bones. He could not remain quiet. Like Jeremiah, let us continue to do the things God has called us to: continue teaching Bible School; continue singing in the choir; continue praying for the lost. Don’t give up on your church or your marriage or your calling.
Don’t give up on Jesus

Tragedy in the Church House

Matthew 5:14-15
Every Sunday countless people all over the world sit in church buildings with a false sense of security. They assume that their morality, lifelong church membership, or baptism will earn them a place in heaven. While many of these folks sincerely desire to please God, they are confused about what the Christian life is all about. They think in terms of doing rather than being. So they imitate the actions of good Christians: going to a weekly service, praying, reading the Bible, and trying to be decent people.
However, salvation is not the product of good works. We come into the world with a corrupt nature, and all our wrongdoing is born of a heart turned away from the Lord. Because we are sinful people, we sin. It's that simple. The good news is that in the salvation experience, we are given a brand-new nature (2 Cor. 5:17). Our sin is wiped away because Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for us. From the moment we trust in Him, the Holy Spirit dwells in our heart so that we can live righteously.
The world values action, but the Father prioritizes relationship--specifically a right relationship with Him. People who scurry about flaunting religiosity are missing out on the deeply satisfying and joyous intimacy between a believer and the Lord.

We can help turn others' tragic misunderstanding into triumph by being ready to explain why we have hope (1 Peter 3:15). Speak of the personal relationship with Christ that's possible when a person admits his need and trusts in the Savior.

If your light shines, it reflects well on the church.

Humble yourself

Matthew 23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Everything in life and this world tells us that we have to put ourselves out there. We have to push and promote ourselves. We must make ourselves significant. Winston Churchill reportedly said that history would be kind to him because he intended to write it. That is precisely the attitude that we so quickly develop.
Scripture and the Lord Jesus teach us that we are to humble ourselves. We are to get our eyes and our thoughts off of ourselves and on to Him. We ought to think of others more than we think of ourselves. The truth is that we should just forget about ourselves, our wants, our needs, our place, what people think of us and see about loving and promoting Jesus.
If we honor Him, He will take care to give us whatever honor we need. He will bless us if we will die to ourselves and live to Him.

Stay married

Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
The beauty of marriage is that God made marriage. He makes marriage. He joins us together. The lesson here is to realize that my marriage is more than an accident. God, somehow, unbeknownst to me, has joined us to our spouses. If God has put us together, we are not to be divided.
Marriage should be honored and respected. Marriage is between and man and a woman. That is how God did it in the very first marriage in the Bible. It is how He created humans. Then somehow I met my wife. God brought us together. We fell in love. We decided to marry. I doubt that most considered that it was God putting them together but it was. That is how the verse reads. So let’s respect our marriage.
That means that today we work just a little harder to be the spouse we should be. It says that we love and accept the person that God has given us.
It means that we work through and out of the problems and not the marriage.

So Sorry I could die

Mark 14:33 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; 34 And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
It is hard to see or imagine the pain Jesus felt. He had made Himself 100% human. Jesus was still 100% God, but He felt like we feel. He was hours from the cross. He needed help. He needed the Father to do something for Him. He prayed three times. Each time He accepted the Father’s will for His life and death. Jesus was staring at the death of the cross. He saw the pain and humiliation that He was about to face. He prayed. He asked His friends to pray.
What a lesson for us we have here. When we are staring at something bigger than us, we need to seek God. We need to realize that He can and will help us. We need to pray. We need to know that Jesus understands us. He has felt our pain and humiliation.
He understands and will meet our needs.

Christ, Our refuge

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Ps. 91:2
Spring is the time of year when much of the country is more likely to have severe storms and tornados. For safety, people often construct storm shelters. During a storm, these shelters are a place of refuge unaffected by the strong winds
.
In all of our lives there will be storms. In Christ we have a refuge and fortress from the storms. Jesus taught a wise man will build his house upon the rock of God’s word. When the rains come and the winds blow and beat upon the house it will not fall, for it was founded upon a rock.

When storm clouds gather, place your trust in Him.

Where are you??

Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. Jer. 6:16
I used to never stop and ask for directions. Last Summer, Sandra and I found ourselves lost on the back roads of South Georgia. To her amazement and approval, I stopped and bought a map and we were soon headed in the right direction.
Where are you on the road of life? Are you headed in the right direction? There is a path, a good way, which God has made for you. A way in which you can find peace and rest for your soul.

God’s Word is our map and with His guidance He will point us in the right direction.

Paul's desire

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. Rom. 10:1
Although Paul was called by God to be a missionary to the gentiles, he also had a heartfelt desire to see the people of Israel saved. As we go about doing what God has called us to do, let it be our heart’s desire and prayer to God that others might come to know Christ as Lord and Savior.

1000th pageviews

Well Praise-the-Lord!!

Praise the Lord for the things He has done.  At the writing of this blog post, I noticed we reached a great mile-post in blogging and that is "OUR 1000th page-view"  As many of you may know Google keeps a record / stats of the audience and the page-views were a blog writer may visit and observe to see how their blog is doing on the internet, aka, World- Wide-Web (www).  We can see the audience, which shows up in many countries around the world, as well as here in the USA.

Once again, I am humbled and honored to see these stats.  This is my second blog that I support. My first personal blog has reached  over 10,000 page-views. And I am hoping to get to 20,000.  The blogs has that God factor that I like.  You see, if a lost or searching person is looking for God and / or answers, many times they will search on a certain word or thought, and that's where God can mysteriously use and by miracles lead the them to truth and to our blog post.

As the young lawyer once said to me many years ago, "you're reaching outside the walls of the church" yes and around that world!!

This blog is based on one verse in 2Peter1:1 to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Truly it's a place to glean, gather and get encouragement from ALL the preachers and teachers that I know of and that have agreed to share with you all, The Preachers of our faith !!

I shall keep gathering and keep placing their words on this blog page.

May God bless you,

RevDanSam

He is precious

Unto you therefore which believe he is precious. 1 Peter 2:7
We hold dear that which is precious to us. We consider it to be of the greatest value. To a man dying of thirst, water is precious because nothing else will do. In the same way, to a man dying in sin Jesus is precious. To those of us who believe, He is the most precious gift in life.
I have a granddaughter who calls me “Her Precious Papa.” Her words reflect the love and value she places on me and our relationship.

Let us remember today, how precious Jesus is to us and let our words and actions reflect the love and value we place on Him as our Lord and Savior.

Our culture and church

The culture, and even the church, has a preoccupation with tolerance, in all the political and social correctness.
I wonder, why aren’t we concerned about offending God?

Rev. KK

Blind and now I see

He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see. John 9:25
The man had been born blind and Jesus had given him sight. The Pharisees questioned the man about Jesus and told him Jesus was a sinner. The man responded, I do not know if he is a sinner or not, but one thing I know, whereas I was blind, now I see.
We all have questions. Sometimes others may question our faith. I do not have all the answers. Paul said, “How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been his counselor?”

I may not know everything, but one thing I do know, I once was blind and now I see.
