A Mighty Conclusion REVDN

A Mighty Conclusion
Hitherto (thus far) hath the LORD helped us.(1 Samuel 7:12)
My what a conclusion Samuel has reached. It was not just for the present or particular time Israel was facing.
This assuring thought takes in three areas.
The Past - Our Present - the Path ahead.
One writer put it, it is like looking down a road and seeing things that you know helped you get to where you are.
How long has its been sense you took the time to think about how and why you are where you are today?
Three quick thoughts:
1. The Course: thus far or hitherto as our King James has it.
The paths, the problems, the people or anything else to add. The ups and downs, our failures and successes.
It was the Lord that helped us, (not us, but him)
David was aware of this truth, in Psalms 124:1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
Psa 124:2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side ...or "While on this course, if it had not been for the Lord"
Putting it in language we can understand,
IF IT HADNT BEEN FOR JESUS, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BAD!
2. The Force: help
Webster gives us some help regarding this little word here.
It means to aid, relieve, assist, to lend strength to succor, to remedy to change for the better.
Isn't that just like Jesus?
Which brings me to my third thought, and that is the,
3. The Source: The Lord
What makes him such a precious commodity is
1. He's Universal in his presence: No place that you will find yourself, in which his presence will be unavailable.
2. He's Unlimited in his power:
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Nahum 1:3 said ... He was great in power
3. He's Unfailing in his Promises:
What he says he can do and will do, and HE DOES!
God Bless as we close out this year !!

Sit with Him REVDN

Matthew 26:36 Jesus instructed his disciples. Sit here while I go over there and pray.

Several things seem to stand out to me here in this sacred passage.
1. This Place: It was a garden. Mans fall commenced in a garden and now the commencing of mans redemption it too is in a garden.

2. This Prayer: Christ in his heaviness cries out to the Father, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
This prayer is a prayer where the Son is submitting to the Father's will and plan of Redemption.
If we have walked with him, we too have prayed these prayers.
Where we have submitted to the Father, knowing the Father knows what's best.

3. The Placements:
Jesus and 11 of his disciples enter the garden. Judas the 12th will be there soon as he has ventured out on his own, fulfilling his own destiny.
Christ instructs the majority to tarry while he goes a little farther to pray.
James, John and Peter walk with him to watch and pray. The others seemed to be left behind.
You ever feel like you have been left behind?
That your ministry or life is not as important as others that started out the same time you started out.
May we have this understanding.
The garden has places to Step (walk)
The garden has places to Stand
The garden has places to Sit
Neither of these are any less than the other. When Christ entered the garden he took with him his disciples. Some walked with him, others stood with Him, and then there were those that seem to be left out, who found themselves just sitting and waiting.
An old wise preacher said to me once many years ago, "before you will ever stand with and for HIM, you will have to first sit with him.
If you are in the garden with HIM, just be grateful you are in the Garden!

He is our joy and strength REVAG

He is our joy and strength
Habakkuk 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, Neither shall fruit be in the vines; The labour of the olive shall fail, And the fields shall yield no meat; The flock shall be cut off from the fold, And there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The LORD God is my strength, And he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, And he will make me to walk upon mine high places.

I challenge everyone to learn how to personalize a text, make it yours, make it apply to you. I will demonstrate how I meditate and pray in this manner using the above text. I challenge you to consider how to do this so that you take the Scripture and its actual application and apply it to your life. This would be how I would pray this prayer in my life now.
Although everything in my life falls apart, I will rejoice in the Lord. Even if what is happening causes me great embarrassment I will joy in the God of my salvation. If life turns away from all I have ever dreamed of, I will still trust our God. I will not whine about my situation. I will think of how good God has been to me. I will find great joy in Him and His salvation. I will lift His name high in my heart. He is everything to me in the good times and in the bad times.
I know that God is my strength. I know that He will still work in my.life. I know that He will give me victory. He will make me walk in the high places again. I will be strengthened by Him. I will not give up. I will not be beaten because He will give me what I need to win. In Him I have victory. I will rejoice in my God and Savior Jesus Christ.
When all is said and done, I am just in love with God. I know that all that really matters is Him. I will trust him.

God’s hand on me REVAG

God’s hand on me
Nehemiah 2:18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.
Nehemiah and the people that followed him knew that the reason things were going well was God’s blessings. They knew that God had His hand on the man, Nehemiah. Both Ezra and Nehemiah continually recognize that it is God that is blessing. They know that it is not them but the hand of God. They give credit and glory to God for the good. They do not believe that it is their hard work, their planning, or even their praying that is doing the job.
There are so many indirect ways that we like to steal God’s glory. We would say that we prayed so hard that He did something. We would say that we worked so hard, or we had been to such and such a conference, but it can really only be summed up like Nehemiah summed it up. It was the hand of God on his life.
Are you serving Him? Are you seeking His power and blessing?
Does God have His hand on your life?

The Ministry of Loneliness REVDN

The Ministry of Loneliness

John 16:32 -I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
Loneliness can and will play an important part in the Child of Gods Life. The Christian must guard against treating loneliness as a curse or struck of bad luck. At times, Loneliness is as much of a divine experience as his presence.

1.Loneliness can be a Negative:
I feel it what we make out of these times can be a deciding factor. When it comes to loneliness there's nothing positive about it regarding our lives.
In fact, multitudes struggle to keep from being lonely.
Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.
(Mother Teresa )
2.Loneliness can be Noticed:
The Scriptures are filled with examples of people whose lives were marked by loneliness.
No greater example than our Lord and Savior who prayed alone, trodded the winepress alone ...
Then there is,
Moses alone in the desert
Paul alone in desert
Jacob alone. As he wrestled....
Daniel alone in den of lions ...
John alone on the Isle of Patmos
3.. Loneliness can be a Necessity:
It is in the experience of isolation, that the Lord develops an independence of life and of faith so that the soul no longer depends on the continual help, prayers, faith, and care of others.
His greatest work in the lives of many was in a place of loneliness.
Yet when all is said an done, you will find, in those lonely moments you really wasn't alone!
Jesus said, I am not alone , for my Father is with me.

A quote from Spurgeon

A quote from Spurgeon

just saying

He came to us REVDB

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger. Luke 2:7
John tells us Jesus was the Word of God made flesh. The creative spirit of God who spoke the universe into existence. He is eternal, holy and all powerful. How could we know such a God? How could we hope to approach Him?
There is no way we could ascend into His presence, but He willing came into ours. Not as a king, but as a baby born in a stable and wrapped in the most humble cloths and laid in a manger.

A Savior who invites us into His presence.

The ministry of Thorns REVDN

Romans 8:35 Who separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:37 IN ALL THESE THINGS WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROGH HIM THAT LOVED US.
It has been said that, The ministry of thorns has often been a greater ministry to humankind than the ministry of thrones.
Paul was give a thorn (figuratively a bodily annoyance or disability):
While there is a lot I do not know about the processes of God and particularlay suffering and its many faces. I do believe this, it is for our good and His Glory.
I. The Things: my what all this takes in.
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
The question is asked, who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
He list a series of catastrophic events.
Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine or nakedness, peril or sword.
If they could they would.
Thank God this brings us to this precious truth,
II. The Truth: more than conquerors.
The idea being presented here, we have not just won the battle, but have carried off the field the spoils of war.
It's the heads of the Goliath's that are in our battles. The trophies that hang in our tents pointing and proving our victories.
III. The Triumph: through HIM that loved us
Christ reminded us, without me ye can do nothing.
O how different it would be, if you should take HIM out of this equation.

When you are at the End REVDN

When you are at the End

Psalms 61:1 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Psalms 61 has to be one of my favorites. It being a psalm of David and it being a Psalm of David revealed three things.

His psalms revealed:
1. His Heart - it's as if we can look into his heart as he penned these words down
2. His Horrors - Crises he finds himself in.
Some horrors are due to bad choices on his part, others are due to enemies and adversities.
3. His Hope - Of course that being none other than, the good shepherd of his soul. Psalms 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Psalms 61 is just one of the many that we find where he's crying out to the one that is greater than his crisis.

Note if you will some basic truths I find here.
1. David Reaching: 1-2 Hear my cry and attend unto my prayer... From the end.... will I cry when my heart is overwhelmed
Where he's at, this is the only thing he can do. That is just cry out.
Strongs was interesting in regards to this word attend. He said - to prick up the ears, that is, hearken: - attend, (cause to) hear (-ken), give heed, incline, mark (well), regard

2. David's Reason - 3
It was simply due to the fact of what God over and over had done for David in his past.

3. David's Resolve - 4
I will abide in thy house, and I will trust in the covert of thy wing..
Abiding and trusting.. My what a combination.

The song Trust and Obey resonates in my heart this morning..
John H Sammis in the 1800's penned this truth down when he said,
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

A personal testimony REVAS

I would like to share something else that is heavy on my heart this morning. I hope all of my friends will read and head the warning. It is a bit long, but oh so important!
You cannot get to Heaven without being born again. The Scriptures are very clear on this.
John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." You cannot get to Heaven through your church membership, baptism, good works, or any other way. It must and can only be through Jesus Christ.
If He is not your Savior, then you are condemned to eternity in Hell already...John 3:18, "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." Without being born again, you will die and go to Hell.
The Philippian Jailer asked Paul and Silas, (Acts 16:30) "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" and their answer was, (Acts 16:31) "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
You may be thinking, I do believe in Jesus, but there is a vast difference in knowing ABOUT Him and KNOWING Him personally. Now you may be asking, "How can I get to know Him personally?"
1) Know that God loves you...(John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
2) Know that you, just like each person born into this world, are a sinner...(Romans 3:23) "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"
3) Know that their is a price to be paid for your sin (Romans 6:23) "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
4) Know that Jesus Christ paid your sin debt by His death on the Cross of Calvary (Romans 5:8) "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
5) Know that you must repent (turn from) your sin and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you (Romans 10:9-10) "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Confess that you are a sinner and believe in YOUR HEART (not just your head, which is the difference between knowing ABOUT Him and actually KNOWING Him).
I am saved and have the assurance that when I die I will be in Heaven with Jesus Christ, not because I go to church or that I am a Pastor. I will go because of that Saturday night in 1985, at Kmart in Conyers, Ga., the Holy Spirit told me that I was lost and on my way to Hell. It was then that I confessed to Jesus Christ that I was a sinner and bound for Hell, but asked Him to come into my heart and save me which is exactly what Rom. 10:9-10 says to do. I am trusting HIM for my salvation! I am not trusting anything that I have done, but I am trusting His Word to get me through. (II Timothy 1:12) "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
Please do not trust in your religion (church membership, baptism, etc.) to save you. Ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sin and save you today! There is nothing like knowing Him personally as your Savior!
Jesus Christ loves you and so do I!

Don't Forget Who is in Charge - REVDN

A brief thought.

Don't Forget Who is in Charge
And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
Jeremiah 45:5
I was told by a family member once, all they had done to get to where they were in life. They ended it by declaring, I am a survivor.
Thank God there is survival only through God's Grace and Mercy.
The question is asked here in Jeremiah, Should you seek great things for yourself? The answer was and is as if the Lords states, don't forget I'm in the midst of your experiences and life.
What consolation this should be, having the knowledge that there is the Unseen Hand of God at work in our lives.

I. A Great Discovery
From time to time I find myself looking back in retrospect. One thing that seems to stand tall above it all, is that life has not been the way that I thought it would.
( Someone said, it's been like a box of Chocolates. You never know what you're getting ...)
I have made some great discoveries, that wasn't even considered as a young man. Jeremiah described them as disasters. I've had a few of those. Actually I've had a lot of those.
The reasons for this are:
1. Selfishness - seeking great things for myself.
2. Scenery - ( it's just goes with the territory. ) we live in an imperfect world that has been cursed by God and full of imperfect people.
3. Sovereign's Design:
I will bring disaster.. Saith the Lord
You can search all you want, trying to figure out why such events are happening in your life, only to come to this conclusion, only God knows and why.
Isrealites were told the Path God had design for them was to Prove them, Humble them and to know what was in their heart.
II. A Great Difficulty
The truth being echoed is this, the Lord did not promise us that life would be easy. We were convinced, it would be easy. I'm embarrass at times when I recall some of the conversations I had with myself, where I convinced myself this path I'm choosing would be easy.
There's a reason when two people stand before an altar and pledge to each other in their wedding vows I am and will be yours for better or for worse, sickness and health, richer or poorer.
It's because life is filled with great difficulty.
III. A Great Danger: disasters
The thought, escaping with your life, seems to imply that ones life will be from time to time in jepoardy.
Paul was under great pressure, far beyond [their] ability to endure, so that [they] despaired even of life" (2 Cor 1:8)
You ever had those times, you felt like if something doesn't happen you're going to die.
David cried from the end of the earth, when his heart was overwhelmed .. Lead me to the Rock...
IV. A Great Declaration: declares the LORD
In spite of the place, people, dangers God said, he would let us escape.
My what a promise. My what proof we have of who is in charge of out Lives.
Job was and is proof
Daniel was and is proof
Three Hebrew Boys was and is proof
On and on I could go, for the list is without end.
His heart, hand and haven is far greater than our problems and places we find ourselves in.
If we are true Christians, we must not expect everything smooth in our journey to heaven. We must count it no strange thing, if we have to endure sicknesses, losses, bereavements, and disappointments, just like other men. Free pardon and full forgiveness, grace along the way, and glory at the end all this our Savior has promised to give. But He has never promised that we shall have no afflictions. (J C Ryle )

Goals - REVDN

We all have our goals.
There are those whose goals are to be rich, others to be successful, and some to be beautiful and handsome. Then there are those who seemingly live in such a way, it's as if they have no goals. My how we should labor, to keep this from claiming our lives and years..

How long has it been since you sat and thought about what it is you're after? What are the goals in which you are pursuing?

Then ask yourself, how successful are you in achieving them.
I think it's safe in saying, the eternal should precede the temporal. Matthew sets a standard for us in Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
John revealed to us in 1Jn 4:19 What I believe should be the precedent for our life and its goals. We love him, because he first loved us.
You think the world would be a better place if this was at the first of our list?
To be lovers of Christ. Lovers of His Word, His Works, Lovers of the Wonders in which he loves?I believe it would.
A quote I came across this morning that stirred my heart in thought was by the 19th century Anglian Bishop J C Ryle. He said, Of all the things that will surprise us resurrection morning, this I believe will surprise us the most, that we did not Love the Lord more before we died!
J C Ryle.
For the time I have remaining on earth, I want to love Christ more, how about you??

Even though you're Down, Look up - REVDN

A bit of my devotion today.
Even though you're Down, Look up
Psalms 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
In these past months, I've tried by the Grace of God to put this plan to use.

In fact in all honesty I can say my days have gone better. I didn't say the days were without their challenges, but with the challenges came strength.
We all have the same routine, every morning.
1. We Wake up:
2. We Get up:
Why not take the time to
3. Look up:
One of the greatest bits of advice, a hero of the faith said to me was, keep your sights high..
In a time of great sorrow, Isaiah stated, when the king died, I saw the Lord high and lifted up. He said in essence, I looked up!
David in one of my favorite Psalms said,
I will lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. He's saying I am going to look up!
Jesus stated, If I be lifted up, I will draw all men to me. In essence, if I am put in a place where men can look up, I will draw them unto me.

Oh! The need of being near to and seeing the sacred, bleeding, resurrected, enthrone lamb!
It is a proven fact that a person will head in the direction they are looking.
What is it that you are looking at today?
Your eyes see it, your mind thinks it, your imagination dwells upon it, your soul desires it — and eventually you do it.
The hymnist said it this way,
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” (Helen H. Lemmel, 1922)
Look up!!!

Be still and know that I am God -RevDN

PSALMS 46:10
Be still and know that I am God
For that individual that's constantly on the move and busy about with the chores and adventures of life, stillness can be be a curse.

But for the child of God whose times are in Gods hand it can be quite rewarding.
There comes a time when instead of being busy we must be still.
A wise old preacher told me once, before there will ever be a standing for Christ, there must be sitting with Him.
1. Silliness and knowing God are inseparable.
2. Stillness and knowing God are important.
3. Stillness and knowing God are inspirational.
My the help that's received by that servant who left the business of the crowd to still away and sit at the feet of God.

Mary fell at Jesus feet in a graveyard and said with tears and a broken heart, Lord if you'd been here my brother would not have died!

He saw her tears and said lets go get your brother!

That which you are after, that seems unreachable. In fact it has gone from bad to worse. Have you tried finding your place at the Lord's feet with tears?
The poet said it well,

THERE IS A PLACE I GO TO REST AT THE FEET OF GOD.
THERE IS A PLACE WHERE I AM BLESSED AT THE FEET OF GOD

What Paul wanted the Christians at Corinth to know - RevDN

2 Cor. 1:8
For we would not brethren have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
2 Cor. 12:9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Paul felt there was a need for these believers to know. Often time he resorted to this little phrase, " this know also or as he stated here in this verse before us, I would not have you to be ignorant.
There should be no reason for us to be ignorant and without knowledge.
For we have the
1. Scriptures-
2. Spirit-
3. Sermons- these messages from the like of Paul, God's servant.
Paul wanted the Christians of Corinth to know about his:
I.) Troubles: We all have them. It's a common bond that unites us as humans..The mystery that confuses many, are the troubles that meet up with Christians, Gods people..Christians have troubles.
Jesus said in the world ye shall have tribulation.
2.) His Trial- he even despaired of life. It should not go unnoticed, that even the strongest have challenges in the midst of their troubles. He lost hope, the man, the great apostle, the writer of most of the New Testament, despaired of life.
3.) His Triumph - 2 Cor 12:9
I like those 5 little words, And He said unto me!
O! The blessing of hearing God speak when you are having troubles.
Through his trials and troubles, Paul was aware of these things
A. God had selected him for these troubles
B. God had spoken unto him in his troubles
C. God had settled him in his troubles.
Through God's Grace he was made strong in his troubles.

Lesson from the corn seed - RevDN

Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone:but if it die,it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it;and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (John 12:24-25)
1. A Prerequisite: Except a corn of wheat ... Die
In life and success for Christ, there hast to be a first. This prerequisite is death.
Our lives are compared to a seed of corn being planted. It's not placed in the ground to live, but to die.
In God's economy to live you must die.To receive you must release. This is totally opposite in the worlds economy.

2. A Process:If it dies it bringeth forth much fruit.
Isn't this what we are interested in, producing and having more fruit? The dying is not for the moment, but for the days ahead, yea years and centuries later.
I read it's estimated there's about 800 kernels of corn on one ear or cob of corn. Not bad from one seed?
But the seed must be placed in the ground to never be seen again.

3. A Problem: it's getting difficult, finding those who are willing to die.
They want to be seen. Jesus Said if you are going to follow me, you must first deny yourself. (Die)
John the Baptist said in reference to Christ;
He (Christ) must Increase and I must decrease.
I heard a man say many years ago, referring to a missionary in Mexico; as good of a preacher as he is, it seems like a waste for him to be a missionary.

Give him your Dreams
Give him your Goals
Give him your Reputation
Give him your Riches

Jesus saw their faith - RevDB

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Mark 2:5
The Bible teaches us we are saved by grace, through faith. When Jesus looked up, He saw the faith of four men lowering a sick friend through the roof into His presence. He also saw the faith of he who needed His help
.
As then, Jesus still responds to acts of faith. Not only the faith of those who need to be saved, but the faith of those who bring them to Christ. If we are to win the lost, we must believe that Jesus will save those who we bring into His presence.

Why This Response? - Rev TG

Musing Through Matthew- Why This Response?

Let us muse again today from Matthew 15:26 and the theme of Jesus the King.

In our text for study today we see a truth about why this response? He calls this lady crying for help a dog and tells her she’s not worthy of the children’s bread, why this response? One reason was to remind her of the fact she was a Canaanite and not a part of the chosen family. If she was given this bread it would certainly be grace that gave it. The second reason was to see what it would take to stop her from asking.

Let us not be deterred by anything when seeking His help.

The Comforter -DN

The Comforter
John 14:16
Romans 8:26
It was a good day when I learned the Holy Spirit was not an it, but a person. He is very interested in us that are saved and even ministers to those that are lost.
It is my conviction, without his work in the heart of a person there will be no salvation or even real service after salvation.
Jesus promised his disciples prior to his departure, I'm going to send you another comforter. This comforter's identity is the Holy Spirit.
1. He Abides: He is in it for the long haul. Someone might say well I can't feel him and sense him,yet that does not mean he is not there.
2. He's Aware : the scriptures states, he who searches our heart knows, when we don't know, He Knows!
... He helps and intercedes for us.
3. He Assists : when we do not know what to pray, he says it for us. Could it be we do our best praying when we feel it's our worse praying? ... He helps and intercedes for us.he helps us with our infirmities, he helps us with our prayers and he helps us with service.

A Failure, a fact & a feature - DN

Prayer in Jesus's Name
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name:ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
John 16:24
My how this verse spoke to my heart this morning. In my simple way of thinking some thoughts we find here in this verse.
1.) A Failure: hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name.
Out of all my failures, the most costly and common are those involving prayer.
A.) Invitation is given:Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me and I will answer thee !
It seems at time all my praying is asking, yet this is what the Father wants us to do!
B.) Instruction Is giving: (we could say how to get the most from your prayers )
It's not just important that we pray, but how we pray. The factor that gains the attention of the Father is that name above all names, JESUS!
Joh 16:23 Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
2.) A Fact: ask and ye shall receive. ( not maybe but shall receive )
Prayer in HIS NAME Works today!
A.)Simple Fact: It doesn't take a genius to figure out what is being stated.
To be honest I don't know how to pray as I should, but I know how to ask.
Strong's states, to ask means, to beg, call for, crave, desire, require.
B.)Sure Fact: ye shall Receive:
3.) A Feature: that your joy may be full
There is nothing in all the world that will ever bring delight like receiving the things we have prayed for.
This illustration was taken from the devotional today. It was such a blessing to me, thought I would share it with you.

During the American Civil War, a certain man had a son who enlisted in the Union army. The father was a banker, and although he gave his consent to his son, it seemed as if it would break his heart to let him go.
Once his son had left, he became deeply interested in the plight of soldiers, and whenever he saw one in uniform, his heart went out to him as he thought of his own dear boy. Often to the neglect of his business, he began spending his time and money to care for the soldiers who came home disabled. His friends pleaded with him not to neglect his business in this way, by spending so much time and energy on the soldiers. So he decided to give it all up, taking his friends' advice.
After he had made this decision, however, a young private in a faded, worn uniform stepped into the bank. It was easy to discern from the wounds on his face and hands that he had been in the army field hospital. The poor young man was fumbling in his pocket to find something, when the banker saw him. Perceiving his purpose for coming into the bank, he said to the soldier, "My dear man, I cannot help you today. I am extremely busy. You will have to go to the army headquarters, where the officers will take care of you."
The poor wounded soldier still stood there, not seeming to fully understand what was being said to him. He continued to fumble in his pockets and finally pulled out a scrap of dirty paper. He laid the filthy page before the banker, who read the following words written in pencil:
Dear Father,
This is one of my friends, who was wounded in the last battle and is coming to you directly from the hospital. Please receive him as you would me.
Charlie
All the banker's previous resolve to focus solely on his business instead of soldiers quickly flew away. He took the young man to his own magnificent home and gave him Charlie's room and seat at the dinner table. He cared for him until the food, rest, and love had returned him to health, and then sent him back to his place of service to again risk his life for his country's flag. selected

The fear of the Lord - DB

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Pr. 1:7
Have you ever met someone who knew everything? At one time or another, many of us have suffered from this condition. It tends to leave us with an inflated sense of self-importance and an unpleasing arrogance toward others.
The truth is we do not know everything. Our search for knowledge begins as we humbly reverence God and His Word. It is only in this position that we can fully appreciate the glory and greatness of our Creator.

When you don't understand - DN

i ask the Lord to speak to my heart this morning. Simply because I needed to hear his voice! This is what He gave me,

I Kings 8:56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
1. The Lord is Adorned: blessed be the Lord
He is worthy of praise!
2. The Lord has Achieved: hath given rest unto his people
3. The Lord has Accomplished: he had promised and kept his Word. Every bit of it!
What has he said to you today? Has he given you a word, a promise. Trust Him!
When the frosts are in the valley,
And the mountaintops are gray,
And the choicest blooms are blighted,
And the blossoms die away,
A loving Father whispers,
"This all comes from my hand";
Blessed are you if you trust
When you cannot understand.
If, after years of toiling,
Your wealth should fly away
And leave your hands all empty,
And your hair is turning gray,
Remember then your Father
Owns all the sea and land;
Blessed are you if you trust
When you cannot understand.

our faith in Him - DB

And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. Gen. 15:6
Abraham is old and childless. God comes to him and tells him he will have a child and his descendants will be as numerous as the stars in heaven. And he believed in the Lord and his faith was counted unto him as righteousness.
When we place our faith in the Lord it is counted unto us as righteousness. Abraham did not place his trust in himself or his on ability, but in the one who promised.

Likewise, the righteousness of Christ is imputed unto us when we place our faith in Him.
