This book, the bible

"This Book is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding; its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass, the soldiers sword, and the Christian's character. Here paradise is restored, Heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure.

Follow its precepts and it will lead you to Calvary, to the empty tomb, to a resurrected life in Christ;

yes, to glory itself, for eternity."

Today

Although I have my own plans, I have no idea what is going to truly happen today, but I am so glad that I know the one that does!

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Prov. 3:5)

the Love of Christ

When you experience the love OF Christ, it will make you have a love FOR Christ. It is His love that constrains us to share the gospel, to live godly lives, to die to self, to take up the cross daily, to unfriend the things of the world, to yield to the Holy Spirit. The reality of His love is not a free pass to do what the flesh desires to do, His love is a motivation for living biblical, holy, separated lives.

Jesus did not condemn the woman taken in adultery, but neither did He encourage her to continue in her sin (He told her to sin no more). We have completely abused and misused the meaning of God's love when we treat it as a free pass to love our sins.

How to understand

These scriptures were on my heart and mind this morning.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Heb.11:1-3

"Through faith we understand" and specially our worlds and things.  You who are without God or the knowledge of  GOD,  can lack understanding.  David said on the things he considered, it all came together or he understood when he entered the sanctuary where God's presence was there.
When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;then understood I their end. see Psa. 73:16-17

Our faith base religion helps us to understand.  For we have God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit, as our teacher and guide. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

And then we have Holy scriptures, God's word, which teaches us His ways, wisdom and workings.
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee:O let me not wander from thy commandments.11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psa. 119:9-11

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2Tim 3;16

Well, having said this, you must be saved to have that faith, you must be a child of God, born again. For we are all creations of GOD but we are not all children of GOD until we accept Him, and His dear son Jesus, who was GOD in the flesh, and dwell among us, many, many years ago. But we have the Bible, GOD's word that tells us so.

So make the first step in faith base religion, believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST and be saved. For messiah of the Old Testament is the CHRIST of the New Testament.

May GOD bless you friend,

religious blindness

today from Matthew 15:16 and theme of Jesus the King.

In our text for study today we find the truth about religious blindness. Peter feels like our Lord has spoken in a parable about spiritual blindness and plants that have been planned but our Lord is stating  a principal. We can understand if the Pharisees don’t comprehend but the inner circle has been with Jesus for so long. Our Lord says to them, are ye also yet without understanding?

How often because of our lack of living in the word do we miss the simple truths our Lord is showing and sharing with us personally and pointedly.

Difficulties

Difficulties, we all have them, some more than others, it seems. They are like the keys on the piano. The notes from the black keys are just as beautiful when pressed as the white keys. Yet to hear the capability of the instrument both white and black keys must be pressed.
We must realize, due to us being in HIM, and our lives if you please are surrounded by HIM, everything that comes our way must first go and pass through him.
Before Job faced one ounce of trial and trouble, the tempter and TROUBLER ( if that's a word ) had to check in with the Creator for permission. It had to come through him, across his desk if you please.
While attempting to put a 1000 piece puzzle together, the father discovered some of the pieces were missing. He found the pieces under the cushion of the couch. He discovered his young autistic son had hid them. When ask why, the son replied, he did not like the dark pieces. The son fail to see, the dark pieces was an important part of the beautiful picture within the puzzle.
Just as the dark pieces were a part of the puzzle, these difficulties we face are a part of our lives in which the great creator and author of our Faith has designed..
Charles H. Spurgeon said, Many people owe the grandeur of their lives to their tremendous difficulties.
Cheer up, God has this!!

Getting Back on Course

Getting Back on Course
2 Peter 3:17-18
No matter how far away from God you have drifted, you're always welcome back. That's the lesson from Jesus' parable about the prodigal son--the foolish boy who followed a pleasure-filled path to ruin before returning to his father and finding redemption (Luke 15:11-32). Perhaps ruin has not yet come to you, but you know that your heart has grown cool to the things of God. Whatever your drifting story, make this the day that you point yourself back to the Lord.

As with any sin, the first motion toward getting back on course is to acknowledge that you have slipped away from the Lord. Then you confess and repent, which is like turning your boat in the opposite direction and paddling toward God with all your strength. If you're wondering exactly how to do that, I suggest a strategy I use every morning. Before I step out of bed, I give myself to God by acknowledging, I surrender my entire life to You for this day. When something comes up that runs counter to His plan and I consider pursuing it, the Holy Spirit reminds me that I am not my own.

Only God's way will do for me.

Every day we choose whether to row or drift. As for me, I choose to vigorously pursue God.

Peter gives a warning to be on guard against attitudes and ideologies that would carry you away from truth (2 Peter 3:17). Instead, choose to paddle your lifeboat toward the Lord by meditating on Scripture, praying, and living obediently. Practicing the spiritual disciplines keeps a heart warm toward God.

Because of His Love

And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest. Ruth 3:11
If I redeem something, I am buying back that which once belonged to me but was lost. Ruth was part of a family which had lost everything it once owned. She went to Boaz, her near kinsman, and he agreed to pay the price to redeem her and all that had been lost to her family. Why? Because he loved her.
Jesus came to redeem us. Created by Him and for Him, we were his prized creation. Because of our disobedience we were sold into sin and lost. Jesus came and died on the cross to pay the price for our redemption. Why? Because he loved us.

Are you saved??

Are you absolutely, 100% sure that you are saved this morning? Has there been a time in your life that you can look back on, that you realized you were a sinner (Rom. 3:23) and that you were not good enough to get yourself into Heaven without Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:12; John 14:3)? Has there been a time when you realized that Jesus Christ died for YOUR sins, taking YOUR place on the cross of Calvary (Rom. 5:6-10). Has there been a time in your life that you realized that if you died in your current condition that you would go to Hell (Rom. 6:23)? Have you ever asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sin and to come into your heart and save you (Rom. 10:9-13)? If you have not, I can say with assurance, based upon the Word of God, that you are headed straight to Hell when you die (John 3:1-7).
It breaks my heart to know that so many people in this world today are trusting in their good works or "hoping" that they are just plain "good enough" to get into Heaven. It does not work that way (Eph. 2:8-9)!
Please get born again today! It is the only way!
Rev. 22:20, "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

A heavy heart

My heart is a bit heavy this morning as I ponder on the thought of so many souls dying without Christ in this world. I am so thankful to the Lord, first of all, that I am saved, but also for the enthusiasm that the members of Berean Baptist Church has for the children in this community. Please pray for our VBS going on this week. Please pray for our workers and for me as I preach the Word of God to them, and that they would be saved and encouraged in the Lord. Please pray for our bus ministry, that the Lord will send us workers so that we can reach more children and adults with the wonderful Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As I look at Facebook and Twitter, I see where many other churches are in VBS, revivals, jubilees, and teen camps. I am praying for each one of them, that the Lord would bless and we would see revival break out in our nation like we have never seen before. I am so sick of seeing what is on the news where our nations leaders can do nothing but fuss and fight, and where people are being murdered on our streets. It is time that born again believers repent, and get on our knees praying for God to move in our churches, move in the hearts of our pastors and evangelist, and move in the hearts of our missionaries.
Please Lord, saved the lost in our nation today!
II Chron. 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

When He's not speaking

Isaiah 18:4 .... I will consider in ( from ) my dwelling place (says God)

The day we place God in a chamber to analyze and figure out, is the day He ceases to be God.
It's amazing how finite creatures can explain the infinite creator. The truth that's precious to many
hearts today is, just because he's silent and still does not mean our prayers are unheard and our problems are without his concern. I have discovered, He uses stillness and and silence to show us He's God. He has his Reasons: Sometimes stillness and silence is due to unconfessed and unbridled sin in ones life:Other times it's not time to speak.
( He's more concerned about timing than Time! Tom Gilliam)

Truth is, some will never know why God is silent and still, because,
It's His Right: He's God
Here are some thoughts, just because he's not speaking and showing himself, doesn't mean

1. Here has nothing to say: He has much to say .....

2. He doesn't know where you are:
That night when the storm was tossing the disciple's ship like a rag, he came walking not searching for he knew where they were at, he saw then from his dwelling place. Just like he sees you from his dwelling place. ( O bless his name )

3. He doesn't know what you're going through

4. He doesn't care
The writer said it so well,
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained Too deeply for mirth or song, As the burdens press, And the cares distress, And the way grows weary and long? O yes, He cares, I know He cares, His heart is touched with my grief; When the days are weary, The long night dreary, I know my Savior cares.

TWO devotional thoughts

Two thoughts from my devotions today that spoke to my heart and I trust will bless yours.

1. Sacrifice and the giving of all has never gone unnoticed with God.
2. Indeed, there is nothing God will not do for those who will dare to step out in faith onto what appears to be only a mist. As they take their first step, they will find a rock beneath their feet. F. B. Meyer

I am grateful at this season of my life, though my health hinders, my age restrains, there is still a desire in my heart to:
a. Serve for him -
I yielded to him over 30 years ago to serve, and that desire is still in my heart today.
I Gave him my family, finances ( which wasn't much , lol)
I said no to jobs so I could serve the tables he set before me.
b. Stand for him
c. Speak for him

The old hymn says it, I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love ....

My Times are in HIS Hands

My Times are in HIS Hands

Psalms 31:15-22

So many friends and people today are stepping through times of great difficulty.
I awoke with this thought upon my heart, " I'm glad these times are in God's Hands"
I wanted to share some truths on my heart today!
What a wonderful truth to face these times we are in. Isn't it amazing how Gods word speaks even in these times as if it was penned down yesterday?

Many believed Psalms 31 was penned by David, when Absalom his son had rebelled and lying lips had spread 1000 of malicious rumors against him..
Should David be before us today he could say, If you want to talk about trouble, I can tell you about trouble, but instead he enlarged this truth, God was bigger than his times.

There are three things I discovered in Psalms 31 that are worthy to note:
God's Help: vs 1
God's Hears: vs2 David was aware that God has sensitive hearing and that his ears are open to cry of those in distress.
God's Hands: vs 15

I'm glad in 2018 these times are in God's Hands!

Psalms 31 reveal to us regarding David,
His Trust was in God's Hand 1-6
His Troubles were in God Hand 7-14
His Times are in God's Hand: 15-22
His Triumph is in God's Hand: 23-24
If I could add one more to this, I would like to say, OUR TEARS are in Gods hands.

Every tear that falls and high lights our cheeks, Gods there and sees it, catches it and places it in his bottle of tears..

He cares!

Train up a child

Train up a child in the way he should go and, when he is old, he will not depart from it. Prov. 22:6
Last night at revival, I got to hear the Park’s sisters sing together for the first time in many years. It was a great blessing. As they sung, I remember the first time I heard them sing. It was about 40 years ago under the arbor at Zion Hill.
Their parents brought them back then and came with them last night. It reminded me of this verse: “Train up a child in the way he should go and, when he is old, he will not depart from it.” The time we invest in our children is never wasted. Especially when it is in service to the Lord.

Please continue praying for our revival.

Glory came down

Glory came down
Exodus 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
The glory of the Lord came down and filled the Tabernacle. God showed His pleasure and His presence. It was so obvious, and He so filled the place that His men couldn’t get into the tent with Him. How I long for Him to do something so significant in my life. How I long for Him to make His presence so clear. I want to please Him. I want Him to show Himself.
We live in a world that is tired of us talking about God but not seeing His true power. I beg Him even now to use me, to use our church, to make His presence, power, and pleasure known.
We need Him. We can never be satisfied to do what we can do. We need what only He can do.
Rev. AG

Unbelief shocks God

Unbelief shocks God
Mark 6:6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.
Jesus is God. He is on the earth that He created. He is among the people that He chose as His own and taught His truths for centuries. They do not believe Him. They doubt that God can work miracles. They are not a people of faith but rather of doubt.
He continued teaching in this verse, but He was shocked at their unbelief. I wonder how much I let my doubts and fears hinder what God will do in my life. I wonder how much my doubts shock God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
He saved me and made me. He lives in me and has proven Himself many times, but I still let fear and doubt work in my life. I no longer want to shock someone who loves me so much. I want to have a childlike faith in what I read in His book.
I want to believe God.
Rev. AG

What I would want

I had the blessing of attending the Power of 2 teen camp last night. I watched as God moved in a special and saturating manner. I had attended this camp ground where the meeting was being held many years ago as a teenager.

I thought if I could go back as a teenager, ( I know, wishful thinking! ) what I would want or desire.

As I watched and listen last night, some things came to the mind, I would want.
1.I would want a Promise about my future.
2.I would want Parents that's would tell me No and refuse to let the devil and the world have me.
3.I would want a Spirit filled Preacher to tell me the truth.
4.I would want a Place I could attend and feel a part of.
5. Perhaps I needed Jesus, I would want someone to tell me where I could find him.
6. I'd want me a friend that I could pray with, worship with and give a hug that would hug me back.
