Promises Kept in Bethlehem - TE

Promises Kept in Bethlehem
A promise made in Eden (Genesis 3:15). Whoever the seed of the woman is, he engages in spiritual warfare and prevails.
A promise made in Ur (Genesis 12:1-3). Whoever this seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is, this seed will have a far-reaching, worldwide scope of blessing. In this seed, all the nations and families of the earth will be blessed.
A promise made in Israel (2 Samuel 7:8-13). David’s seed will have an everlasting kingdom. Kingdoms rise and fall, but this will be an everlasting kingdom.
The opening of the New Testament is about the birth of a baby.
Who is this seed of the woman? The arrival of this little baby was the arrival of the seed of the woman (Luke 1:30; Galatians 4:4).
Who is this seed of Abraham? The arrival of this little baby was the arrival of the seed of Abraham (Gal 3:13-16). Through faith in Christ, we become children of Abraham and inherit the promised blessings. The wild olive tree has been grafted in and we can partake of the root and fatness of it.
Who is the seed of David? The arrival of this little baby was the arrival of the seed of David (Luke 1:31-33). The kingdom has been inaugurated, but not yet consummated. He reigns now, but He will return to earth and on his vesture and thigh a name is written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Through Jesus, the seed of the woman, we have victory over sin, death, and the grave. We overcome the world through faith. If God is for us who can be against us? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? We are more than conquerors.
In Jesus, the seed of Abraham, we are blessed with all spiritual blessings and are already seated with Him in heavenly places. We are no longer dead in trespasses and sin, no longer without Christ, no longer aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, no longer strangers from the covenants of promise, no longer without hope, no longer without God in the world. Now in Christ Jesus, we who at one time were far off, are made near by the blood of Christ.
Through Jesus, the seed of David, we have already been translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God's dear Son. We are citizens of another kingdom. While we suffer now, our suffering will soon end. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. The saints will judge the world and angels.
Born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago, was the seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham, and the seed of David. Not only that--He was the Seed of God—God's only Son.
I'm thankful for Bethlehem, for it was there God kept His promises.

Christmas - KK

Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”

Christmas is the act of Christ coming to us and becoming one of us so that we could come to the Father and become like Jesus Christ.

Hey I'm glad he came! - DN

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. John 15:22
In my devotions this morning, on this Christmas Day, a somber truth grip my heart. The human race has always been in great trouble. In its depravity, it seems as if we are sinking deeper and deeper. The answear to mans need was Christ coming That starry night in Bethlehem.
In Frank Capra 's classic " It's a Wonderful Life " George Bailey thought life and family would be better off without him. While thinking about suicide and through a process, he entered a world where he never existed. The effect it had on his family, friend and future.
Because of a divine visitor, he came to the conclusion, just how blessed he really was.
This year at Christmas time, I have watch and listen to people. And to hear them you would think, they didn't even know that CHRIST came into the WORLD.
After preaching a while back, I mention from the pulpit, The Claus wasn't real. You would have thought I cussed or blasphemed or something. ( A dad came to me and said, It was all good until you said what you said about ... He said, I was wondering how I was going to explain to his child what I had said.. I thought, "Tell her the Truth "
This has always been a part of our world, but now it's become a part of our churches..
They act as if Christ had not Come into the World...
Lets take a moment and ponder this truth, What if Christ had not Come
Paul in Ephesians 2:12 alluded to this truth, "without him or being in a world without Him "
1. We would be without Promises: Ep 2:12a
2. We would have no Prospect: 2:12b (having no hope )
3. We would be without Peace: Ephesians 2:14 (he is our peace )
4. We would have no Priest: Ep. 2:14( a go between) He hath reconciled us to God
5.) We would have no Pathway: Ep 2:18 (he is our access )
Hey I'm glad he came!
....they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is being interpreted God with US

What's on your mind - AS

Facebook asks, "What's on your mind, Alan?"
Well, what is on my mind this morning is revival! I am so very thankful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for what He has done for me this week. My heart cannot be more full than it is at this moment. I NEEDED THIS, even if no one else in our church did. The Bible says, "Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart" (Ps. 37:4) and He has done just that! My desire is to have a closer relationship with Him, to have a closer walk with Him, and to be used by Him. Those are my greatest desires. I believe with all of my heart that if we seek these, then all of our other desires and needs of this world will fall into place, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Mt. 6:33). NOTHING is more important than putting Jesus Christ FIRST in your life.
I realize that this is Wednesday night and most of my friends will be worshiping in their home church, but if you do not have somewhere to go tonight for service, we would love to have you come and visit with us for the final night of our Christmas Revival. You will not be disappointed in the preaching that the Lord has given us this week! If you have never been saved, it sure would be a blessing for you to come and receive Jesus Christ as your Savior!!
