lingering in Psalms 42 - DN

 I have been lingering in Psalms 42 in my devotions.

I love this psalm. In verse 5 the writer ask himself, why art thou cast down o my soul? Sometimes it seems this question is implying it shouldn't be cast down. I can find reasons it would be cast down,

1. The Bombardment of the Enemy: vs 3,10a.

2. The Belittlement of his God: 3b,10b

3. The Banishment of his Friends: 4 (church friends I might add)

I also found reasons it shouldn't be cast down! He had a

1. Place to Run to: vs 4 (the house of God )

2. Person to talk to: vs 9 (I will talk to God)

3. Promise to Adhere to: vs 8

There's God's sweetness in the daytime and God's song to sing at night.
