His creation speaks

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Rom: 1:20

God speaks to us through His creation.  Yesterday, He shouted!  He reminded us He is there and He created the heavens and the earth.  His creation is so marvelous we cannot comprehend its size and complexity; yet, it is so ordered that we can calculate to the minute where and when a solar eclipse will occur.

Sometimes an unusual event like the eclipse, causes us to take notice of things we otherwise take for granted.  Yesterday, we were made to consider the sun that gives us light and brings life to the earth.

Today, let us consider Jesus, the Son of God, who is the light of men and who gives to us eternal life.

Weeping

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.  Psalm 30:5

We all face those times in life when we feel great sorrow:  the death of a love one; the suffering of a friend; the loss of something precious to us.  These are events common to the human experience and so is our emotional response to loss and pain.

As a Christian, we have the assurance that while weeping may endure for a time, joy cometh in the morning.  When Jesus arose, he won the victory over death, hell and the grave.  For a Christian, there is life after death and ultimate victory.

There will be joy eternal for those who place their faith in Him.

A Steward

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.  1 Cor. 4:2

A steward is someone entrusted to manage the property or affairs of another.  Such a trusted position requires that the steward be found faithful.  A dishonest steward would soon be unemployed.  As a Christian, other people should be able to trust what we say and do.

The Bible teaches us everything belongs to God and we are His stewards.  This includes our resources, our time and talents.  We are to use what He has given us for His honor and glory.

May we found faithful today with all that God has entrusted to us.

Moved By The Multitude

Musing Through Matthew- Moved By The Multitude

Let us muse again today from Matthew 14:14 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our text today we see our Lord is moved by the multitude. Our Lord has gone by boat to a desert place to be alone but when He embarks from the boat He sees the multitude. He immediately is moved with compassion and begins to meet their greatest needs. He puts all of His needs to the side and begins to meet the needs of others.

How can we as His servants do less than our Master.
